This Saturday afternoon, the 5th LGBT+ Community March took place in the municipality of San Juan del Río, with more than 400 people marching through the city’s main streets.

The event began at 4:00 p.m. at Las Garzas Park, where organizers were already ready to begin the march. The route departed from Las Garzas Park, located in the Deportiva neighborhood, continued along Moctezuma Avenue, then Central Avenue, then Benito Juárez Avenue, until reaching Jardín Independencia.

Participants were accompanied at all times by Civil Protection personnel, San Juan del Río Volunteer Firefighters, and Municipal Police officers. Most attendees wore bright attire, some bearing the traditional flag representing the community, and others carrying signs alluding to the fight for diversity.

The King and Queen of Diversity were also present during the parade, riding on a float. Along the way, entire families joined them, showing their support for their loved ones. The organizers stated that this year’s goal was to highlight the fact that there is a community in the municipality that demands respect for its sexual orientation.

The march concluded at the Jardín Independencia Garden. Once in the city center, a stage was set up where a rich cultural and artistic lineup was presented.
