Mexibús service on two lines had to be suspended this Thursday morning due to a blockade by residents of the municipality of Ecatepec, in the State of Mexico.

The residents of the El Sol and Llano de los Báez neighborhoods decided to block traffic on the Mexico-Pachuca federal highway near the Central de Abasto (Basto Central Market).

The residents are demanding improvements to urban infrastructure from the local government. Among their demands, they indicated that they wanted to restore the roadway, as raw sewage is causing ponding and flooding.

Mexibús Service Suspended

Due to the blockade, service on Lines 1 and 4 is affected, so temporary routes and transfers with the support of security units have been activated.

For Line 4, which runs from Tecámac to Indios Verdes, a circuit is being operated from Puente de Fierro to La Raza. Meanwhile, Line 1, which runs from Ciudad Azteca to Ojo de Agua, maintains a route that runs from the Central de Abasto to the terminal in Ecatepec.

Hundreds of commuters who use this service to travel to their activities in the Mexican capital expressed their dissatisfaction, having to seek alternative means of transportation.
