In connection with the LGBT+ Pride and Dignity March in Querétaro, a road closure operation will be implemented in the city’s Historic Center next Saturday, June 14th, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The affected streets will be Zaragoza Avenue, Universidad Avenue, Ezequiel Montes Avenue, and Circunvalación Avenue, at all entrances and exits to the capital’s main square.

Authorities and organizers recommend that citizens use alternative routes such as Ignacio Pérez Street, Constituyentes Avenue, Corregidora Norte Avenue, Epigmenio González Avenue, and Bernardo Quintana Boulevard. The Organizing Committee reported that this will be the ninth edition of the march in the Querétaro capital, which this year is being held under the slogan “Against hate and inequality, pride and dignity,” with the aim of raising awareness of the LGBT+ community in the state and denouncing the conditions of discrimination that still persist in various spaces.

As a new feature, the starting point will be Jardín Guerrero, where an LGBT+ Businesswomen’s Market and health modules offering free HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B testing will be set up starting at noon. The tour will begin at 4:30 p.m. and culminate in Plaza Fundadores, where an artistic event will be held with cultural expressions and political messages.
