The Guerrero government reported that at least 1,319 people have arrived at the 22 temporary shelters set up in different parts of the state due to Hurricane Erick.
It reported that the shelters are located in the municipalities of Acapulco de Juárez, San Nicolás, Marquelia, San Luis Acatlán, Las Vigas, Florencio Villarreal, Cuautepec, Copala, and Coyuca de Benítez.
It also noted that the rains from Hurricane Erick caused landslides and mudslides on roads in the municipalities of Chilpancingo, Acapulco, Zihuatanejo, where the Cayco Bridge collapsed, Acapulco to Pinotepa Nacional, Tlapa, and the border with the state of Puebla, although traffic has been suspended for the time being.
He highlighted the various damages experienced, including fallen trees and flooding in buildings in the municipalities of Coyuca de Catalán, in the Tierra Caliente region; power outages and poor telephone service; and damage to roofs in communities in some municipalities of the Costa Chica region, such as San Nicolás, Ayutla de los Libres, Cuajinicuilapa, Ometepec, Igualapa, and Cuautepec, among other damages.
