The Federal Government reported that 32,038 personnel from the Navy and the Mexican Army were deployed to respond to the emergency caused by this storm.

In response to the ongoing emergency, despite the downgrading of Hurricane Erick from a Category 3 hurricane to a tropical storm, the Federal Government is maintaining its relief operations. It emphasized that the Ministry of National Defense (Defensa) sent 21,508 troops to respond to this emergency, of which 9,032 were deployed to Oaxaca and 11,876 to Guerrero.

The Navy (Semar) also deployed 9,071 personnel: 6,418 in Oaxaca and 2,053 in Guerrero.

In its efforts to assist those affected, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) sent 757 operational and technical personnel, 27 from the National Water Commission (Conagua), and 665 electrical workers from the CFE.

Erick hit Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca, as a Category 3 hurricane, with maximum winds of 205 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gusts of 250 km/h.
