The alleged kidnapping of a hotel manager in Acapulco was denied by official sources from the Guerrero State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), who requested anonymity.

Unofficially, the security official from the social representation, who asked to remain anonymous, clarified that it was a private matter and not a kidnapping, as they were having a peaceful conversation before the incident.

On the night of Saturday, June 21, Roger Herrera, manager of the Hotel El Presidente, was socializing with two people at the Villa Vera Hotel, including a Canadian citizen.

According to preliminary investigations into the case, which has not been officially reported to the FGE, the foreigner tried to prevent the two Mexicans who were with him from leaving the Villa Vera Hotel and pulled a gun from his clothes.

The Canadian man pressured his companions for a few minutes to stay with him, but some of the employees called the police after seeing the attempt to detain the hotel owner and another person, whose identity has not been revealed.

Two taxis were burned at Kilometer 22 and on the Paso Texca bypass.
Both public transportation vehicles were operating on the Kilometer 30-Las Cruces route; a body was found in one of them.
Members of various security forces arrived at the inn and entered the property, prompting the drunken, armed Canadian to flee toward the hills.

Authorities stated that an operation was launched to locate the foreigner, and it is expected that he will be captured in the coming hours and handed over to the appropriate authorities.

It was reported that the incident will be followed up to clarify the events that occurred on Saturday night, and it has been ruled out that any crime-related incident occurred.
