The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported that Paul López Gómez was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the crime of human trafficking, in the form of selling material involving acts of bodily indecent exposure to minors.

The New York Police Department reported that it has deployed additional officers throughout the city and is coordinating with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies to monitor any potential threats.

According to the investigation, in September 2022, the convicted man and a woman offered digital files with images of a 12-year-old girl engaging in acts of bodily indecent exposure.

Later, on November 5 of that year, López Gómez shared a file through a messaging app in which a girl is seen performing sexual acts.

Both incidents occurred in the municipality of Tepotzotlán. Following the investigation, the FGJEM (Federal Attorney General’s Office) captured López Gómez, who was taken to the Cuautitlán Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center.

The judicial authority issued the sentence after reviewing the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office reported that a woman linked to these events was arrested in February 2024 and is awaiting sentencing.
