After US Attorney General Pam Bondi added Mexico to her country’s list of “adversaries,” President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that the US official is unaware of the relationship between the two countries.
“She’s not very well informed, to be honest,” the federal president stated during her morning press conference.
The head of the executive branch reiterated that there is coordination between Mexico and the United States, even announcing that a security agreement between the two countries will soon be signed.
“There is a lot of coordination. We are about to close a security agreement with the United States government, resulting from the first meeting held in February in Washington. It is well advanced, always within the framework of the sovereignty of each country and respect between the two countries,” she noted.
She also announced that the heads of the National Security Secretariat (Sedena) and the Navy (Semar) visited the Northern Command after the latter’s visit to Chihuahua.
“A statement will be issued at some point during a visit the Secretary of Defense and the Navy had to Northern Command, in reciprocity for the visit received from Northern Command to Santa Gertrudis, Chihuahua,” she added.
Mexico is an enemy of the US, like Iran, Russia, and China: US Attorney General
During an appearance before the Senate Appropriations Committee on the Justice Department budget, Pam Bondi added Mexico to her list of enemies along with Iran, Russia, and China.
“Trump has said it loud and clear: We will not be intimidated and we will keep the United States safe. Not just from Iran, but also from Russia, China, and Mexico—from any adversary who tries to kill us or drug our children,” the US official said.
