Volkswagen de México announced that it is already preparing to manufacture the Golf model at its Puebla plant, starting in 2027.

This represents the return of Volkswagen Golf production to its production lines and recognizes the legacy of generations of workers who have positioned the Puebla factory as a global benchmark in quality, efficiency, and commitment to innovation.

“The designation of our Puebla plant as the Golf production site is a recognition of the track record of experience, efficiency, and quality we have built for more than half a century.

“This model is part of our history, but also of our future,” said Holger Nestler, president and CEO of Volkswagen de México, in a statement.

From the 1970s to 2021, the Puebla plant was home to four different generations of Golf.

More than two million units produced have consolidated this model as a symbol of the quality of “Made in Mexico.”

Currently, this plant produces the Jetta, Taos, and Tiguan models and boasts world-class infrastructure, including a 100% electric paint shop that avoids the use of natural gas and reduces up to 29,000 tons of CO₂ per year, in line with the company’s global “Go To Zero” strategy.

With this new production facility, Volkswagen de México strengthens its capabilities and consolidates its role as a leader in the transformation of the automotive industry in the world. country.

The company has not yet detailed the investment amount to manufacture this vehicle in Mexico.
