Violent Monday in Puebla; 5 bodies found in 3 municipalities

The bodies of four people have appeared in the last few hours in two municipalities of Puebla.

The bodies were reportedly abandoned in the municipalities of Tecali de Herrera and the capital.

Police reports indicate that in the municipality of Tecali de Herrera, the remains of two people with clear signs of violence were found.

According to the information, the victims were found in fields; officers from the State Attorney General’s Office responded to the scene to begin an investigation.

Meanwhile, in the capital of Puebla, two more bodies were reported to have been found in a ravine in San José los Cerritos.

Police were deployed at the scene and cordoned off the area.

Violence in Puebla: Another body found in Coronango

Hours before the discovery of the four bodies, a body was found inside a vehicle in the municipality of Coronango, and the detonation of two explosive devices was recorded.

As police officers cordoned off the area, the two devices were activated a few meters away, injuring one officer.

During the first quarter of the year, Puebla ranked third nationwide in the number of high-impact crimes, according to documents from the civil organization Causa en Común.

The states with the most atrocities were Sinaloa, with at least 163; followed by Guanajuato, with 125; Puebla, with 83; Michoacán, with 75; and Guerrero, with 72. The states with the fewest atrocities were: Querétaro, with at least 1; Yucatán, with 2; Mexico City, with 4; State of Mexico, with 6; and Durango, with 7.
