Querétaro launched a new direct flight connection with Los Angeles, California, via Volaris this Tuesday. This route brings the total number of international flights connecting the state to the United States to seven. The flight will operate three times per week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, on aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.

The flight inauguration took place at Querétaro Intercontinental Airport (AIQ), with the participation of state authorities, Volaris executives, and representatives from the tourism sector.

“We are inaugurating this Querétaro-Los Angeles route. It reaffirms our commitment to air connectivity in Mexico and between Mexico and the United States,” said Jorge Roberto García Rojas, director of market development for Volaris.

The route aims to attract not only tourists but also migrant families residing in California, as well as passengers currently using other airports such as León, Morelia, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, and Zacatecas.

“This flight represents a bridge that unites families, friends, and communities on both sides of the border,” García Rojas emphasized.

AIQ Director Jorge Gutiérrez de Velasco noted that this new route is part of the airport’s 2050 strategic plan, which aims to expand air connectivity and position Querétaro as a center for economic development.

“This is not a coincidence; it’s a vision. For Volaris, Querétaro is not just home; it’s a place to continue growing,” he noted.

The flight costs approximately $200 one way and seeks to capitalize on the growing interest in Querétaro among international tourists.

“Today we are very excited that more international visitors can discover Querétaro’s seven magical towns and its historical and natural wealth,” said Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano, Director of Tourism Promotion for the state.

The flights will depart Querétaro at 5:47 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 10:19 p.m. The return flight will depart from Los Angeles at 11:59 PM and land in Querétaro at 4:21 AM the following day. Volaris already operates flights from Querétaro to Cancún, Tijuana, Monterrey, Chicago, and other destinations, with a 38% market share.
