The Universidad Panamericana Aguascalientes campus received a visit from Shinji Horiuchi, General Manager of Fujita Mexico, for a key institutional meeting that seeks to promote academic internationalization and expand employability opportunities for students abroad, with an emphasis on the Japanese market.
Strategic alliance with a world-class company
Fujita Corporation, internationally recognized for its history in construction, engineering, and innovation, is one of the most established firms in its field. Founded in 1910 in Japan, Fujita is distinguished by its focus on sustainability, urban development, infrastructure, and large-scale industrial projects.

Mercedes Urzúa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad Panamericana, Aguascalientes campus.
During the visit, meetings were held with university officials to explore possible avenues for collaboration in areas such as internships, academic outreach programs, joint innovation and development projects, and graduate study opportunities. In particular, the mutual interest in strengthening the relationship in the fields of engineering, architecture, and high-level specialized training was highlighted.
This meeting represents a significant step in strengthening the global vision of Universidad Panamericana, aligned with its commitment to training professionals with an international perspective and access to broader and more competitive employability networks.
“These types of agreements allow our future engineers and architects to train with global standards that broaden their worldview,” added the dean.
The Fujita Mexico delegation included Mr. Shinji Horiuchi, General Director; Nizi Key Salvador, translator; José Alejandro Tostado, Human Resources representative; and Luis Alberto Lares, from the Value Engineering department.
Representing the Universidad Panamericana were Dr. Ramiro Velázquez, Vice Chancellor of the Aguascalientes campus; Mercedes Urzúa, Dean of the School of Engineering; Luis Arturo Méndez, Dean of the School of Architecture; Israel Gallegos, Director of Institutional Development; Paulina León, Director of International Affairs; Dr. Isaí Reyes, Director of Graduate Engineering; and Karen Rodríguez, Director of Civil Engineering and Administration.
