Traffic Flow Restored on Durango-Mazatlán Highway After Fatal Truck Rollover

A devastating tractor-trailer rollover involving a tanker carrying ammonia has been cleared from the Durango-Mazatlán Highway, allowing traffic to flow freely once again.

According to reports, counterflow maneuvers were implemented at the scene of the accident near the El Carrizo Bridge to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles on the highway. The Federal Roads and Bridges (Caminos y Puentes Federales) website confirmed that traffic had been reopened in the affected area shortly after 10:00 a.m.

Despite initial reports, work continues at the scene of the accident, with personnel from the National Guard Highway Division assisting authorities to investigate the incident. A person sadly lost their life as a result of the tragic crash.

The rollover occurred just before 6:00 a.m. on Thursday at kilometer 163 of the highway, prompting the closure of traffic between the Coscomate toll booth in Durango and the Mesillas toll booth in Concordia, Sinaloa.
