Ana Kareen López Velasco, 17, disappeared last Sunday, July 6, 2025. She was last seen in the municipality of Asunción Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, according to her mother, Rosalía Velasco García.
So far, she has no information on her whereabouts and reported that she filed the corresponding report at the State Attorney General’s Office in Nochixtlán on the same day she disappeared. She fears she was kidnapped under a false job offer.
“I don’t know the exact reason why she left home, but it was because of the deception of a false job offer that I learned about moments before her disappearance.”
Rosalía Velasco explained that in one of the last messages she received from her, she still recognized her handwriting and the words she usually uses; however, hours later, she began receiving messages that seemed strange to her and in which she said things out of context.
“As a mother, I know the way she speaks and expresses herself, so I was alarmed and asked her to send me an audio recording. She sent me an audio recording that she immediately deleted, and I couldn’t hear anything. This completely upset me, and I decided to file a complaint immediately.”
A week after her disappearance, she said that the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office has received it, but they still have no news of her whereabouts.
“Therefore, as a mother, I strongly urge all media outlets and mothers to stand in solidarity with me to find my daughter safely. I have no assurance that she is well and safe, so I ask everyone to support me in locating her so that she can return safe and alive.”
