In the French capital, home to Europe’s largest aerospace and aviation center, Querétaro reaffirmed its presence as a strategic player in the industry.

Participation in the Paris Air Show 2025

During the 55th edition of the Paris Air Show 2025, held from June 16 to 22 in France, the Querétaro delegation participated in one of the most important events in the aeronautical sector, bringing together 2,500 exhibitors from 48 countries and more than 300,000 visitors.

Among the Mexican representatives, the aeronautical team from CONALEP Querétaro stood out, led by its director, Alejandro Arredondo Velázquez, who attended with the goal of opening doors to international collaboration to strengthen the training of Querétaro students.

“This is the first year we attended the fair in Paris. We went to see, rather than manage, to do something to see what we could take. We had things going for us at this fair,” said director Alejandro Arredondo in an interview with Meganoticias Querétaro.

Agreements and International Collaboration

After the visit to Paris, CONALEP Querétaro signed two agreements: a renewal with the Querétaro Aerocluster, to offer more spaces for professional internships and student employability; and another with the Aeronautical University in Querétaro, so that students and teachers could access a specialized program for learning aeronautical technical English free of charge.

For its part, the institution approached Aviation Group to advance the validation of certifications issued in Mexico within the European Union. The possibility of sending the best high school students to summer courses in France and replicating this program virtually in Mexico was also raised.

Importance of Technical Training

These efforts stem from the potential that technical training represents in the aeronautical sector, as 89% of jobs are in this field, estimated the school director.

“The aeronautical sector is a monster in the industry. It’s an industry that is very underserved, especially by academies. I think universities aren’t seeing this great opportunity to train technicians and engineers,” explained Arredondo Velázquez.

History of the Aeronautical School

The aeronautical school in Querétaro was founded in 2011 and was the first thematic school nationwide.

Currently, there are four other aeronautical training schools in the country, located in Mexico City, Quintana Roo, Jalisco, and Nuevo León.

Salaries, Graduations, and Opportunities

Currently, the average salary for technical graduates from this school is 23,000 pesos per month in some companies.

For this academic year, the aeronautical school at Conalep Querétaro will graduate 241 students from the four technical programs. To date, 190 aeronautical graduates have graduated, of which 103 have begun the process of obtaining their aeronautical certification.
