As part of the comprehensive security strategy, the Governor of Zacatecas, David Monreal Ávila, oversaw the progress of the new Coordination, Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence Center (C5i), considered the most ambitious public security project in the state and one of the most advanced in the country.
This Thursday, the state governor toured the C5i to verify its progress, accompanied by members of the State Peacebuilding Roundtable and those responsible for the executive project.
“This will be the most important intelligence center in Zacatecas and one of the most important in the Republic; the eyes and brains of state security will be here,” he said.
He highlighted its location in one of the strategic points of the Zacatecas capital, San Simón Hill, a privileged location that allows for statewide surveillance and operational control.
According to the executive plans and architectural visuals presented, the complex is divided into: Building A: Systems Supervision and Monitoring; Building B: Institutional and Operational Supervision; Building C: Technical Support and Command Platform; General Parking and Access Roads; Flagpole and Communications Tower.
The project includes a total built area of more than 7,000 square meters (m²), with new works including more than 4,000 m² of architectural and technical modifications, as well as specialized areas for data processing, video surveillance, tactical coordination, and logistics.
According to the architectural project breakdown, the C5i will be connected to the C2 and C4 control centers of key municipalities, as well as to the Security Intervention Nodes (NIS) installed at the main entrances and exits of the entity.
Monreal Ávila said these facilities will allow for real-time monitoring of the state’s main roads, data collection and analysis, and direct coordination with municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
“We are accessing the best of the best in intelligence technology,” he stated.
He also announced that once this stage of the project is completed, the next phase will begin: the development of the C8 Center, with expanded intelligence analysis and immediate digital response capabilities. “Technology advances as quickly as it is, and we must consolidate peace and security in Zacatecas as quickly as it is.”
