2.5 tons of drugs and a drug lab seized in Chiapas and Guerrero

In operations carried out in the states of Chiapas and Guerrero, federal authorities seized 2.5 tons of methamphetamine and a clandestine laboratory and warehouse where chemicals and drugs were stored, reported the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch.

Members of the SSPC, in coordination with the Secretariats of the Navy-Mexican Navy (Semar), the National Guard, and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), seized more than 300 drums and containers with substances used for the production of methamphetamine, a firearm, and vehicles.

In the state of Chiapas, on a property in the Margarita Maza de Juárez community, a property used to store substances used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs was seized. Upon executing the search warrant, 2,500 kilograms of methamphetamine, a firearm, four trucks, and more than 300 drums and containers with chemical substances were found.

Meanwhile, in the state of Guerrero, another search warrant was executed at a property in the town of Carachurio, in the municipality of Zirándaro, where security agents found 2,688 kilos of caustic soda, 1,575 kilos of a crystalline substance, and 7,400 liters of a liquid substance.
