The US dollar is trading this Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at an exchange rate of 18.58 Mexican pesos, according to information from the Bank of Mexico at the close of trading the previous business day.
At CitiBanamex, the dollar is trading at 18.02 pesos for purchase and 19.05 pesos for sale.
The dollar at Elektra – Banco Azteca is trading today at 17.65 MXN for purchase and 19.10 MXN for sale.
At international money transfer companies, the dollar is trading today at 18.25 MXN at Western Union.
The official exchange rate is determined by the Bank of Mexico based on an average of wholesale exchange market quotes for transactions settled on the second following banking business day, obtained from foreign exchange transaction platforms and other electronic means with representation in the foreign exchange market, the institution explained.
Over the past two years, the Mexican currency has remained relatively strong and unchanged against the dollar compared to other world currencies. Following the presidential election, won by Claudia Sheinbaum, the official currency devalued to over 20 Mexican pesos, but in recent months it has strengthened again to below 19 pesos.
