Firefighters rescue people trapped in an IMSS elevator in Durango.

Members of the Durango Fire Department responded to the General Hospital of Zone No. 1 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) after receiving reports of several people trapped in an elevator, including a minor.

With a response time of just four minutes, rescuers managed to free the occupants, who were unharmed. The minor was evaluated by paramedics, who ruled out serious injuries.

During the intervention, firefighters faced an initial delay, as they were initially denied access to the area where the damaged elevator was located.

However, minutes later, firefighters were able to enter the building to begin rescue operations.

Finally, the State Civil Protection Coordination was in charge of inspecting and verifying the equipment’s operation, which will determine the safety conditions for its operation.
