The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office recently dismantled a cell allegedly belonging to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Playa del Carmen, which operated using unspeakable recruitment methods.
During his morning press conference, Attorney General Raciel López Salazar reported that hitmen sent to the state were subjected to training that included murder and cannibalism.
These extreme practices were not only intended to “train” recruits, but also to consolidate a structure to compete for positions in different regions.
After the arrest of eight people for possession of weapons for the exclusive use of the Army, an entire criminal network that sought to establish itself in Playa del Carmen was dismantled.
Among those arrested is Sara Jazmín, alias “La Miche,” identified as the person responsible for recruitment and managing the money for purchases.
The Prosecutor’s Office revealed that she traveled from Jalisco, Guerrero, and Michoacán to contact people with experience in private security, primarily through advertisements on social media and video games.
After convincing the candidates, “La Miche” paid for their flights to Cancún and housed them in safe houses, where she received a bonus of approximately one thousand pesos for each person who joined the group.
Horrific Revealed: Forced Training and Recruitment
Among those arrested is Julio César “N.”, who was recruited in Puerto Vallarta in 2023 through a false job offer and later sent to the Jalisco mountains to continue his training.
Meanwhile, Jorge, another of those arrested, reported that candidates who failed the survival tests were executed, and their bodies were then cooked and consumed by the rest of the group.
Those who did not agree to these practices were executed anyway, while those who passed these tests were sent to Quintana Roo, where a new group of recruits awaited them.
A Pandora’s Box: The Horror Behind Rancho Izaguirre
This type of recruitment is not new and has already been confirmed by authorities after the Guerrero Buscadores de Jalisco Collective revealed what was hidden at Rancho Izaguirre, in Teuchitlán.
This revealed how many of the young people who disappeared in strategic areas of Guadalajara or Tlaquepaque ended up in training centers, lured by job offers.
The discovery of the ranch opened a “Pandora’s Box” that reveals the horror of the CJNG’s forced recruitment, where, through deception, extreme violence, and psychological indoctrination, young people with aspirations for work end up converted into criminals.
Meanwhile, Quintana Roo authorities reported that ‘La Miche’, Esmeralda Rubí alias ‘La Burbuja’, Marco Antonio ‘N’, José “N”, Julio César alias ‘El Ranger’, Jorge Luis alias ‘El Chiricuaso’, Jorge Ezequiel alias ‘El Zequi’ and Guadalupe alias ‘La Chucky’ will be linked to proceedings for possession of weapons.
