We’ve all been craving some tacos, only to find they’ve already gone up again. The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reported an increase.

Loncherias, fondas, sandwich shops, and taquerias reported a biweekly increase of 0.38 percent during the first half of August, according to INEGI data.

But other products found in taco shops reported a more noticeable increase:

Serrano pepper: 12.87 percent
Lemon: 5.93 percent
Green tomato: 3.98 percent
Beef: 0.50 percent

“In the first half of August of this year, the generic products whose price variations, both up and down, stood out for their impact on general inflation were: snack bars, restaurants, sandwich shops, and taco shops; homeowners’ homes, as well as universities, with price increases,” indicated INEGI.

But snack bars, restaurants, sandwich shops, and taco shops stand out because they had the greatest biweekly impact, with 0.20 percent in the first two weeks of August.

“The impact refers to the contribution, in percentage points, of each component of the INPC to general inflation,” explains the Institute.
