With resources from Zacatecas, they fight crime… in Chiapas

The diplomatic conflict with Guatemala sparked by the incursion of the Chiapas elite security group known as Pakal into its territory is just one of the irregularities committed by the Secretary of Public Security, Óscar Alberto Aparicio Avendaño, whom Governor Eduardo Ramírez brought from Zacatecas.

For example, the Federal Government detected the constant use by the Chiapas police of a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter belonging to the state of Zacatecas, governed by David Monreal. The helicopter was acquired in 2024 for the Zacatecas Immediate Reaction Force Group (FRIZ), an “elite” police force in that state.

Within the framework of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s First State of the Nation Report, the security results were primarily highlighted, especially in areas where violence was out of control. The case of Chiapas received special mention. The balance has practically been lost, with the risks this situation poses for democracy.

But it remains to be seen whether, as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice, Hugo Aguilar, said, the courts will protect the weak and not the strong.

First of all, there are allegations and indications of the construction of a residence on socially owned land in Tepoztlán by Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña, as well as alleged irregular contributions to the legislator through social media. It is also important to consider the outcome of the case regarding possible excesses by legislators Sergio Gutiérrez and his wife Diana Karina Barreras.

…For now, the legislators of what calls itself the Fourth Transformation gave the former president of San Lázaro a nod by delaying the election of Kenia López, so that Gutiérrez Luna, despite the controversy that follows him, would appear next to the President at the installation of the new Supreme Court of Justice, and would receive the First State of the President’s Report from the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez…
