Following Mayor Pepe Chedraui Budib’s vision of building an inclusive city with sports facilities for all, the Puebla Municipal Sports Institute (IMDP), led by its director Ricardo Zayas Gallardo, presented the “Puebla 2025 Half Marathon” at a press conference, which will take place on October 26th, starting at 7:00 a.m.
This event includes distances of 5, 10, and 21 kilometers in the open category, both for women and men, with the goal of promoting physical activity, healthy coexistence, and civic participation. A new route is also planned for this edition, which will be unveiled on October 7th, as well as a medal and a T-shirt.
In his presentation, Director Ricardo Zayas Gallardo explained how, with Mayor Pepe Chedraui’s help, they are promoting sports, competition, and recreation, as well as promoting and contributing to the economy. They are doing things well and professionally, creating a great experience for runners.
“Sport is a tool for social transformation; with this Half Marathon, we seek not only to promote physical activity but also to strengthen the identity and pride of belonging to a city that runs together,” he stated.
The start and finish lines will be located on Sirio Street, Reserva Territorial Atlixcáyotl 7219 (next to the Art Park). Registration will be open starting September 2nd, until full capacity is reached, at Mistertennis stores or online at www.asdeporte.com.
Registration fees will be:
- 5K: $280
- 10K: $325
- 21K: $375
Awards
- 21K: 1st place $15,000, 2nd place $10,000, 3rd place $5,000 for both categories.
- 10K: 1st place $3,000, 2nd place $2,000, 3rd place $1,000 for both categories.
- 5K: First three places will receive a commemorative medal.
Kit distribution will take place on October 25th at the Puebla Municipal Sports Institute, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
With these actions, the City Government reaffirms its commitment to sports, health, inclusion, and social well-being, consolidating Puebla as an active and forward-thinking capital.
