Construction companies in Baja California dedicated to building construction reported losses of 15.9% at an annual rate for the first half of 2025, according to updated results from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

From the cumulative period from January to June of this year, the value of construction production in the state totaled just over 6 billion pesos, down from the 7.146 billion pesos reported for the first half of 2024.

According to the revised figures from the statistical agency, in Baja California, construction companies reported their lowest production value for the cumulative period between January and June in the last four years.

It is worth noting the importance of construction in the state, as it represented 66% of the total value of production in the construction industry in Baja California in the first half of 2025.

It is worth remembering that the value of construction production refers to the cost of constructing a property, including materials, labor, expenses, and services, and can also be a key component of the assessed value or real value of a property.

It cannot be overlooked that, in Tijuana, construction is primarily vertical to make efficient use of space, especially given the city’s high population density. However, in the state capital, construction of this type of project began five years ago.
