The past summer vacation period yielded positive numbers for the tourism sector nationwide, both in terms of tourist numbers and economic impact, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur).

Tourists staying in hotels across the country totaled 21,459,000, representing a 4.5 percent annual increase. Meanwhile, spending reached 829 billion pesos, representing a 6.3 percent growth compared to 2024.

In the case of the state of Morelos, it received more than 1.4 million visitors, with an economic impact exceeding 1.16 billion pesos.

Hotel occupancy in the state reached up to 85 percent on weekends, with an average of 59 percent, higher than the previous year’s figure for the same period.

“Summer 2025 reflects the joint effort of the sector and the work we are doing to consolidate Morelos as a competitive destination,” said Morelos Tourism Secretary Daniel Altafi Valladares, who mentioned the capital, as well as the state’s magical towns (Tepoztlán, Tlayacapan, Xochitepec, and Tlaltizapán).
