When does the flight between Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and Guadalajara depart?

2

It was recently announced that this sun, sand, and more destination will have a direct connection to Guadalajara starting November 2nd, on a flight operated by Volaris.

The flight will operate four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays), according to Pedro Castelán Reyna, executive director of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo OCV.

“It will be a very short, 50-minute flight, which will allow the people of Guadalajara to arrive early and enjoy the tiritas, mezcals, and fish we have for tasting.”

With this in mind, we present five irresistible plans in this destination that combines nature, gastronomy, culture, and, above all, magic:

Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo are two different destinations that complement each other. “Ixtapa is a city that was born with a completely touristic vocation. The main chain hotels and much of the accommodations are located here.”

“Ten minutes away is Zihuatanejo, a traditional fishing village that retains the true scent, flavor, and color of Mexico. Most of the accommodations here are European-style, allowing people to choose the accommodation that best suits them.”

He noted that Zihuatanejo is a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) and that in recent years there has been a significant investment in restoring public spaces, opening new cultural offerings, and “transforming many spaces for the better, such as the Partenón Cultural Tourism Center.”

Surfing Paradise

North of Ixtapa, we find one of those paradises every surfer dreams of: Playa Linda. It offers constant swells, perfect for those with experience riding waves.

It’s not the only option. If you’re curious, 30 minutes away is the community of Troncones, a beach that is one of the best-kept secrets of the Mexican Pacific, boasting a relaxed and bohemian atmosphere.

Paddleboarding and Kayaking

For those passionate about these two activities, there are also options for enjoyment. How about starting off with a sunrise paddle with Zithuatanejo Bay embracing your path?

Surrounded by green hills and an almost mystical atmosphere, you can also venture out by kayak to Ixtapa Island or Potosí Lagoon. This is a perfect activity for the whole family—keep that in mind!

Snorkeling and Diving

“Marine life” are the two words that best describe Ixtapa Zihuatanejo’s underwater world.

If you enjoy snorkeling, Las Gatas Beach is a must-see, famous for its natural reef, which turns it into a spectacular outdoor pool. Here you can see schools of tropical fish, sea urchins, starfish, and more.

Sport Fishing

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is recognized as one of the best destinations in the world for fun fishing.

Here you can find sailfish, blue marlin, dorado, and tuna. Remember, if you embark on a boat, look for certified guides to help you enjoy the experience more safely.

Jet skiing, banana boating, and sailing.

Speed, excitement, and a bit of humor. Motorized adventure also takes place here.

Climb aboard a jet ski and cruise along the coast feeling the breeze on your face, or sail across the beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay on a sailboat enjoying the spectacular panoramic views of the beaches and mountains.
