According to data from Sedectur, the port’s hotels are at 80 percent occupancy, demonstrating that Mazatlán is seeing a good influx of tourists this national holiday weekend, stated Estrella Palacios Domínguez.
The mayor commented that both the soccer match on Friday, where Mazatlán FC hosted the Pumas de la UNAM, and the musical concert held on Saturday, were well attended by tourists and that everything went off without a hitch.
She emphasized that these events boost the local economy and directly benefit thousands of Mazatlan families. She emphasized that these types of activities not only celebrate the national identity but also strengthen the municipality’s tourism vocation, and that they have been held safely and peacefully for the entire population.
“These days, the Hotel Association, tourism companies, and the Tres Islas Hotel Association have reported around 80 percent occupancy.”
The mayor reiterated her invitation to all citizens to attend the commemoration of the 215th anniversary of the Grito de Independencia on Monday, September 15, scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. in the Plazuela República.
She explained that there will be a popular festival with Mexican snacks, as well as cultural events, and the Mi Banda el Mexicano group will perform for the delight of attendees.
She indicated that 11 free urban bus routes will be available so that people can return home safely.
Finally, on Tuesday, September 16, the traditional civic-military parade will take place, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Del Mar Avenue, as part of the closing ceremony of these important events that celebrate Mexican history and spirit.
