Food businesses in the city of Durango will not close their doors during the long weekend, during which a sales increase of up to 50 percent is expected, according to Adriana Porras Zubiria, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac).

Some restaurants that traditionally close on Mondays will be closed for maintenance, but 90 percent of establishments will be open.

The business leader emphasized that these events generate a significant increase in customer traffic, both in traditional food establishments and in restaurants offering diverse cuisines, which represents an opportunity to strengthen the local economy and reactivate the sector as the year draws to a close.

Adriana Porras highlighted the sector’s ability to adapt to fiscal and market changes, as well as the importance of maintaining service quality and product availability during this period.

He explained that with the combination of the national holidays and the second edition of Restaurant Week, Durango’s restaurant industry entrepreneurs anticipate a busy season that will contribute to both the local economy and strengthen employment linked to gastronomy and tourism.
