IHG announced the signing of six hotels in Mexico under its premium Voco brand, in partnership with Alliance Hotels. These conversions will expand IHG’s offering in the premium segment in the country, providing owners with a distinctive, welcoming, and stylish brand that elevates their properties’ value proposition, optimizes their returns, and attracts new guests.
The hotels will open in 2027 in strategic locations within some of Mexico’s key markets, including Cancún, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juárez, San Luis Potosí, Torreón, and Nuevo Laredo.
These properties will add 848 rooms to the voco brand’s portfolio in the country, which currently has four hotels in operation and five under development. Globally, voco hotels maintains a solid expansion plan with 102 properties under development, underscoring its growth strategy and the strong demand for conversions.
The significant renovations at each property will incorporate the hallmarks of IHG’s voco hotels: dynamic social spaces, an arrival experience based on warm and friendly service, and thoughtful touches to make guests feel comfortable from the very first moment.
Paul Adan, SVP of Development for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean at IHG, commented: “Mexico, as a destination for travelers seeking high-quality stays with personality, is an ideal market for voco hotels. The signing of six new properties represents an important step in the brand’s regional expansion and in our ability to offer greater variety throughout the country. By combining voco’s iconic character with our global systems and IHG loyalty network, we are generating new opportunities for owners and memorable experiences for guests.”
The six upcoming voco hotels in Mexico will be: voco Guadalajara Expo Area, with 163 rooms; voco Cancún, with 160 rooms and lagoon views; voco Nuevo Laredo, with 120 rooms; voco Torreón, which will offer 124 fully-equipped rooms; voco San Luis Potosí, with 135 rooms; and voco Ciudad Juárez, with 146 rooms and located a short walk from the U.S. Consulate.
In May, IHG reiterated its commitment to growth in Mexico with brands such as Avid Hotels, which will double its growth by adding nine properties and will open its new hotel in Torreón with Candlewood Suites and Kimpton Monterrey in 2026.
