The Sabor a Mar Festival exceeded all expectations

The event, promoted by the government of Municipal President Lizette Tapia Castro, has established itself as one of the most important in the tourism sector.

The National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) of Zihuatanejo, in coordination with the Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) and the current municipal administration, made the fourth edition of the festival, held on Saturday, a resounding success.

With the bay as the backdrop and Paseo Capricho del Rey as the venue, hundreds of tourists and residents enjoyed a gastronomic showcase that brought together the best of local seafood dishes, accompanied by wines, live music, and a celebratory atmosphere.

At the inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony, President Lizette Tapia Castro congratulated CANIRAC for this initiative and emphasized, “It gets better every day, and more people visit it every day.”

With the participation of the Director of Municipal Tourism, Jesús Gallegos, and the Executive Manager of the OCV, Pedro Castelán, the mayor emphasized that “Sabor a Mar is more than just food; it’s recognizing the essence of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo in its flavors, with the extraordinary talent of traditional chefs and cooks who exalt the best of the sea.”

She also emphasized the importance of visitors having an unforgettable experience and, upon returning to their places of origin, expressing, “There’s no other like Zihuatanejo,” as this promotes and strengthens tourism.

According to data from the State Tourism Secretariat, this year of Tapia Castro’s administration is set to be historic for Zihuatanejo in terms of hotel occupancy and economic growth.
