Actress Azela Robinson, known for her roles in soap operas such as Cuna de Lobos, shared that four months after reporting the disappearance of her nephew José Ramón Ponzanelli, the young man has not been found.

José Ramón, 32, was last seen on May 12, 2025, in Querétaro, when he left the hotel where he worked and headed to a convenience store without his cell phone.

“He disappeared four months ago, and the Querétaro government didn’t help us at all,” stated the actress from the soap opera Sortilegio in a recent meeting with the media, where she provided updates on the case.

What did Azela Robinson say about her nephew’s disappearance?
Last July, Azela Robinson shared the search report for José Ramón Ponzanelli on her social media and asked for her followers’ support in locating the young man; however, until now, the story of him remained unknown.

In this regard, she commented: “Yes (I have a missing nephew) in Querétaro. José Ramón Ponzanelli, son of Mónica Ponzanelli and grandson of the sculptor Ponzanelli, you should know who he is.”

The actress from Contra viento y marea explained that her nephew left the hotel where he worked with his father at 7:30 a.m. on May 12, shortly before his shift began.

“He asked for coffee, asked if there were cigarettes, they told him no, he went to the Oxxo literally a block and a half away, and he hasn’t come back,” stated Azela Robinson, who added that so far, the authorities have not provided them with the necessary assistance.

“(The Querétaro government) didn’t even want to give us cameras,” she commented, which is why she asked the authorities to carry out their duties appropriately, with the goal of finding José Ramón.

“Let the authorities get to work, stop scheming, stop stealing,” he said, referring to his requests to the government. For now, the search for the 32-year-old continues.

What is known about the disappearance of José Ramón, Azela Robinson’s nephew?

The search report issued by the Local Commission for the Search for Persons of the State of Querétaro explains that José Ramón disappeared at the Reserva Suites Hotel, located at 5 Sendero del Pensamiento Street, Milenio III neighborhood, Querétaro.

The young man was wearing a white polo shirt, black pants and tennis shoes, and a cap. In security camera images shared by actress Azela Robinson, the young man can be seen wearing this clothing.

As identifying features, José Ramón Ponzanelli has a tattoo with letters on his left arm, as well as a scar on his neck and right elbow; he also has an oval face, wavy hair, and light brown eyes.

Prior to Azela Robinson’s statements, Mónica Ponzanelli, the young man’s mother, commented in an interview with Imagen Televisión that José Ramón went out without his cell phone on the day he disappeared.

“He left on foot, leaving his cell phone and glasses behind. It was his death sentence not to have taken it, because that’s one of the arguments (by the Querétaro authorities) as to why they can’t search,” she stated in the interview.

Mónica also shared that although she offered to leave her DNA for comparison with the bodies held by the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO), she hasn’t been allowed to do so.
