The Colombian ambassador to Mexico, Carlos Fernando García Monosalvo, reported that the country has an official record of 780 missing Colombians.

He indicated that, like the two murdered Colombian musicians found in the municipality of Cocotitlán in the State of Mexico, disappearances are a very complex phenomenon and are linked to mafia groups involved in human, arms, and drug trafficking.

The ambassador explained that the 780 cases of missing Colombians in Mexico are recorded in Guadalajara, Jalisco, as well as in cities located in the south and north of the country, and all are linked to organized crime.

There are 780 missing Colombians in Mexico.

Jalisco has the highest number of missing Colombians.

All cases are related to organized crime.

Meetings are underway between the Mexican and Colombian governments to discuss the issue of missing Colombians.

At the same time, the Colombian ambassador to Mexico said that in the state of Guerrero, it is unknown whether there are any cases of missing Colombians because no formal reports have been filed with government authorities.

He said that in the face of this complicated phenomenon, the governments of Mexico and Colombia should meet officially to form or create a joint security agency, accompanied by a research center that would not only handle investigations but also understand the phenomena of organized crime.

We can’t keep hammering away at the same issue when a policy has been ineffective. We don’t know the true number of Colombians in Mexico. Government authorities in this country say there are approximately 79,000 registered, but I believe there may be three times that number.
Finally, the Colombian ambassador acknowledged the need to control and suppress organized crime, which is one of the main factors affecting the entire world.
