Since its founding in 2016 in the Magical Neighborhood of Hércules, Möxo Chocolate Artesanal has consolidated its presence in Querétaro’s culinary scene, distinguishing itself through its artisanal process and respect for the cacao bean. The family business began in a small kitchen, making chocolates with cacao from Chiapas, and currently has a fully equipped workshop and a distribution network that spans more than 80 locations across the country.
Möxo’s growth has been possible thanks to strategic support from the Ministry of Sustainable Development, which provided resources and guidance to optimize production and strengthen its processes. Participation in various support programs and national fairs has allowed its products, including bars, coatings, and spreads, to position themselves as authentic and high-quality in the market. This boost has not only facilitated commercial expansion but has also created direct and indirect jobs, strengthening the local economy.
Querétaro, known for its economic dynamism and leadership in entrepreneurship, has become a hotbed of micro-enterprises seeking to preserve traditions and offer products with a regional identity. Möxo, whose name means “coffee” and “chocolate” in Otomi, exemplifies how the combination of tradition, innovation, and institutional support can translate into success that transcends borders. The story of this micro-enterprise reflects the positive impact of public policies that support and foster local talent, consolidating Querétaro as a benchmark in artisanal food production.
