In Querétaro, the Qrobús public transportation system will operate a pet-friendly service for 120 public transportation routes, allowing pets to travel free of charge upon prior registration. This was announced by the State Transportation Mobility Agency (AMEQ).
Governor Mauricio Kuri González emphasized that this service seeks to establish modern and inclusive mobility, allowing families to transport their pets.
“Today, all public transportation is pet-friendly. Of course, there are some limitations regarding traveling with your pet, for example, they must not weigh more than 12 kilos, and they must have a vaccination card (…)” he added.
This service will begin operating this Thursday, October 2, for transportation units operating in the Querétaro metropolitan area.
“The inclusion of these pets, who are very important to all the people of Querétaro (…) Naturally, since this is public transportation, we have to be very careful about order,” said Gerardo Cuanalo Santos, head of the AMEQ.

According to Cuanalo Santos, pets do not pay fare, and there is no charge for their pet card, which is swiped along with their owner’s card upon entering the bus.
“It’s very important to keep a record of all pets boarding (…) starting today, they can register and use Qrobús for pets,” he concluded.
