The Beach Pro Tour Challenge Veracruz concluded with great success on Santa Ana Beach in Boca del Río, where the Dutch and Brazilian teams were crowned champions in the women’s and men’s categories, respectively.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the tournament established Veracruz as a world-class host, offering a safe environment supported by the characteristic hospitality of its people.
With its capabilities, quality infrastructure, and impeccable organization, Veracruz has proven to be a great venue for world-class sporting events.
In the women’s final, Dutchmen Katja Stam and Rausa Achoon defeated Americans Corinne Quiggle and Chloe Loreen by scores of 21-16 and 21-14, while Puerto Ricans Allanis Navas Sánchez and María González Valentín won the bronze medal after defeating New Zealand.
In the men’s division, the Brazilian pair of George Wanderley and Saymon Barbosa took gold by defeating Americans Chase Budinger and Miles Evans 21-16 and 21-17. The bronze went to Swiss Yves Haussener and Julian Friedli, who defeated Italy in an intense match.
Over five days, more than 30 countries competed in front of hundreds of fans who packed the stands and the Veracruz beach, bringing together the world’s elite of beach volleyball.
Secretary of Tourism Igor Rojí López emphasized that these types of competitions consolidate Veracruz’s position on the international calendar and strengthen the regional economy, while promoting family life and the enjoyment of coastal public spaces.
