Puerto Vallarta was recognized as the top favorite small city in Mexico and second in the world, according to the annual Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 survey by the international magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The recognition was based on the opinions of more than 757,000 travelers, who chose this Jalisco destination as the best beach destination to visit between 2025 and 2026, highlighting its hospitality, cultural offerings, and natural beauty.
Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro celebrated the distinction on social media and emphasized that the result is the fruit of collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The distinction consolidates Puerto Vallarta as one of the most important tourist destinations in the country, along with Guadalajara, Ribera de Chapala, and Costalegre, which have strengthened their presence in the international market in recent years thanks to a strategy focused on sustainability, air connectivity, and cultural promotion.
The Condé Nast Traveler recognition adds to other awards the destination has received in recent years, placing it among the favorite destinations for American and Canadian tourists, in addition to being one of the strongest economic drivers in the coastal region of Jalisco.
