The event will bring together more than 25 wineries, 15 workshops and pairing tastings, five high-level culinary experiences, live music, and a diverse gastronomic offering.

Sommelier Ana María Arias, festival director, emphasized that “Sabor a Vid” seeks to bring consumers and tourists closer to wine culture in an open-air setting, during the best time of year.

The initiative responds to the growing interest in wine in the region: according to the 2022 ISCAM analysis, Mérida surpassed cities such as Querétaro, Monterrey, and Mexico City in terms of wine presence in consumption centers, thanks to its consolidation as a gastronomic destination.

The festival will be organized by VINOTELIA, the company responsible for “Viva el Vino,” the most important event in the Bajío region, which has brought together thousands of visitors and hundreds of labels. Thanks to its long-standing history, wineries from states such as Baja California, Coahuila, and Querétaro, as well as countries such as Italy, France, Spain, and Chile, have confirmed their participation.

In addition to wine, “Sabor a Vid” will feature Yucatecan beer producers and products, along with local restaurants offering traditional cuisine, Italian, Lebanese, and sushi, all designed to pair with the featured labels.

With the support of the Yucatán and Guanajuato Tourism Secretariats, the festival is expected to become an annual event. Air connectivity between Mérida and León via Viva will facilitate visitor arrivals.
