The National Water Commission (Conagua) is monitoring a low-pressure zone in the Pacific Ocean, located approximately 420 kilometers south of Bahías de Huatulco, Oaxaca, due to its possible evolution into a tropical cyclone in the coming days.

According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), the system has a 40% probability of cyclonic development in 48 hours, and a 60% probability in the next 7 days. The information was shared on the afternoon of October 15, 2025, with a cutoff time of 6:00 p.m.

Although it does not yet pose an immediate threat to the Mexican coast, authorities are monitoring its evolution, as it could intensify at the end of the week. These types of systems typically bring heavy rains, gusty winds, and high waves to regions in the south and west of the country if they approach the coast.
