Despite recent calls for caution regarding security issues at the port of Mazatlán, Karina Morales, president of the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV), Durango branch, reported that no cancellations of scheduled trips to that destination have been recorded so far.

She noted that only adjustments have been made to departure dates, but demand for Mazatlán continues, reflecting that many people continue to consider the port a viable option for relaxation, particularly due to its proximity to Durango.

However, Morales recommended that travelers take certain precautions, including traveling during daylight hours and, once at their destination, opting, if desired, to enjoy hotel services, as many of these resorts offer beach access, recreational activities, and various amenities that allow tourists to enjoy themselves without having to leave the city.

She emphasized that tour operators in Durango have not perceived a direct impact on package cancellations or a lack of interest from travelers. She added that the AMAV in Durango will continue monitoring the situation and maintain communication with authorities and service providers to ensure the safety and satisfaction of those who choose this destination.
