During a live broadcast, Noroña revealed that his leave of absence will be temporary, although he did not reveal further details such as the date of his return or his reasons.

When will he request a leave of absence?

“Yes, I will request a leave of absence… Starting Thursday the 24th, I will request a leave of absence in my capacity as a senator of the republic. There has been speculation because I almost blurted out my words last week regarding the issue of support for victims,” he stated.

However, he ruled out that his request for a leave of absence was due to the controversies that have surrounded him recently, such as the purchase of a 12 million peso house in Tepoztlán, Morelos; as well as the use of a private jet on his tour of Coahuila,

“They began to speculate that because of the scandals, they run my errands, it’s intrigue,” the former president of the Senate of the Republic maintained.

However, he asserted that it is a necessary decision, although he noted that it is not a permanent leave of absence nor is it part of a tantrum: “I have to do it, but don’t worry, I’ve been a senator for five years. It’s for the better, it’s not for any reason, it’s not a matter of a tantrum, of pressure,” he said.

Fernández Noroña’s statement is emphatic, stating that his decision is based on a “revolutionary” motivation, suggesting that it is a calculated rather than a reactive one.

By leaving his seat, the Morena senator regains complete freedom for political mobilization and activism, as well as his tours around the country.
