Puebla City pays tribute to Chavela Vargas at the closing of the Festival “Death is a Dream”

The City Government, headed by Mayor Pepe Chedraui, through the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla (IMACP), directed by Anel Nochebuena, invites all residents of Puebla to enjoy the concert “Chavela and Her Women: A Tribute to Chavela Vargas,” this Sunday, November 2nd, at 6:30 p.m. in the city’s Zócalo. Admission is free.

In an afternoon filled with emotion, talent, and remembrance, renowned performers from the Mexican music scene will come together to celebrate the legacy of one of the most iconic voices in Latin American popular music. Ofelia Medina, María León, Eugenia León, Regina Orozco, and Vivir Quintana will share the stage with Los Macorinos and Mariachi Gama 1000 in a show that promises to move and ignite the hearts of the Puebla audience.

“Chavela and Her Women” is a tribute that honors the strength, freedom, and passion that Chavela Vargas infused into each of her performances. Through music, poetry, and the stage presence of renowned artists, the public will be able to relive the most emblematic songs of their careers and celebrate their artistic legacy.

The event will take place on November 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in the Zócalo (main square) of Puebla City.

With this event, the City of Puebla concludes the “Death is a Dream” festival, which over several weeks offered more than 50 artistic and cultural activities in various locations throughout the municipality, establishing itself as one of the most representative events for honoring the Day of the Dead tradition and strengthening the cultural identity of the people of Puebla.
