The Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of the Mexican Government, Omar García Harfuch, reaffirmed a strategic alliance to strengthen security in the state.
The high-level meeting was held to reinforce collaboration between the state and federal governments, focusing on public safety, crime prevention, and police professionalization.
During the meeting, the authorities stated that the objective is to guarantee peace and well-being for Yucatecan families.
They reviewed the progress of joint security strategies and agreed to strengthen operational cooperation mechanisms and training for police forces.
This commitment seeks to maintain the high security standards that have characterized Yucatán at the national level.
The Governor emphasized that security is a state policy in Yucatán, the result of coordination and shared commitment among the three levels of government.
“In Yucatán, security isn’t something to boast about, it’s something we build every day; our priority is protecting the peace and well-being of Yucatecan families,” the Governor stated.
For his part, Secretary García Harfuch acknowledged Yucatán’s positive results and emphasized the importance of maintaining close and ongoing collaboration with the State Government.
Both agreed that security is the foundation of economic and social development and agreed to strengthen joint projects focused on prevention, equipment, and training.
The absence of Yucatán’s Secretary of Public Security (SSP), Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda, was noted at the working meeting, where the next steps for the state security model were defined.
García Harfuch and Díaz Mena were the only participants in the meeting, which aims to consolidate Yucatán’s security model with federal support.
The absence of the state’s top security official at such a crucial meeting for operational and strategic coordination with the Federal Government was a detail that stood out.
The government of Díaz Mena reaffirms its commitment to maintaining peace and quality of life in Yucatán.
