The extended Durango family expressed their ideas in the “Dream Durango” 2025 Citizen Consultation. Through more than 6,000 conversations, over 25,000 proposals were collected, which will form part of the 2026 annual work plan. This consultation reached 80% of the municipality, in both urban and rural areas.

In presenting the results, Toño Ochoa explained that “Dream Durango” is a key tool for defining and monitoring the municipality’s work plan. “It allows us to review which indicators and projects we are promoting to respond to the dreams, aspirations, and needs of the people of Durango,” he emphasized.

Obiel Arámbula, director of IMEPLAN, detailed that the information was gathered through home visits, the website, and suggestion boxes installed at various points throughout the city. A total of 232 neighborhoods, 220 housing developments, and 30 rural communities were covered. Furthermore, she asserts that 8 out of 10 people consider Durango a good place to live, and 73 out of 100 believe it is a peaceful city.

The best-rated public services were garbage collection, the care provided by the Municipal Children’s Hospital, and the work of Civil Protection. Citizens rated the municipal government 7.17 on a scale of 1 to 10, which demonstrates positive progress, Arámbula added.

Councilwoman Adla Karam recognized the IMEPLAN team for their work and thanked those who participated in the consultation. She affirmed that the City Council will support the proposals so that they become a reality.
