Yucatán will participate in the National Magical Towns Fair, which will take place from November 13 to 17 in Pachuca, Hidalgo. The event is a key forum for trade and the promotion of these destinations nationwide.
Raúl Paz Noriega, Undersecretary of Sustainable Tourism Development for the Ministry of Tourism Development (Sefotur), announced that the state will be represented by its seven Magical Towns: Valladolid, Izamal, Tekax, Espita, Maní, Sisal, and Motul.
The official emphasized that this is the first time all seven municipalities have attended the fair together, and the Yucatán delegation will consist of 60 people, including artisans, tourism service providers, municipal officials, and traditional cooks.
As a new feature, the Undersecretary detailed that the Yucatán booth will include a space dedicated to traditional Mayan medicine this year, with the participation of representatives from some of the Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns). A gastronomic booth will also be available where traditional cooks will offer culinary samples from the region.
Paz Noriega emphasized the importance of the National Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns Fair), which she described as the most important national platform for this segment. She explained that the event has a similar objective to the Tianguis Turístico (Tourism Fair), seeking to attract wholesale tour operators and the general public, but with a focus on the Pueblos Mágicos product.
This year, the event aligns with the Federal Government’s focus on promoting sustainable and community-based tourism.
