A rollover accident occurred Friday afternoon on the Santa Clara–Juan Aldama highway, at kilometer 139, on the border between Durango and Zacatecas, where a cargo truck lost control and overturned on its side on the asphalt.
The accident was immediately attended to by State Police officers, who arrived at the scene to assist the driver and coordinate rescue efforts. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
According to the preliminary report, the driver of the vehicle, whose identity was not released, was able to exit the vehicle on his own after the rollover, although he sustained minor injuries. He was evaluated by emergency personnel who responded to the call.
The rollover did not cause major traffic disruptions, but authorities implemented a traffic control operation to ensure safety in the area and prevent further accidents, given that the stretch of road is narrow and has high traffic volume.
The causes of the accident are still under investigation, although it is not ruled out that a mechanical failure or excessive speed may have influenced the loss of control of the vehicle.
