The Oaxaca-based collective against digital violence, DLR, warned of the existence of a pedophilia group where photos of high school students are shared, allegedly led by fathers and stepfathers.
They indicated that the group was located on Telegram and has more than 350 men who uploaded images daily of their daughters or transgender daughters dressed in their school uniforms.
Andy Torres, director and founder of the DLR collective, explained that they always monitor the internet when they receive any reports of the existence of a pedophilia group.
He said that “unfortunately” the photos of the girls were taken by “someone who lives with them in their home.”
In an interview, I pointed out that alerting and reporting these types of networks allows for the identification of the people who expose minors, since the messages include the men’s names and nicknames.
And secondly, he said, it is important to warn mothers about this type of violence.
I have asserted that this action constitutes child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and pornography.
The collective also discovered intimate photos of other women who are not students.
“What’s happening is deplorable; we’re concerned because these images and photos are for sexual purposes, because they don’t just stay on screens, they’re being sold.”
They added that the alert on social media aims to encourage those affected to file reports with the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office so that the case can be pursued for “pornography, pedophilia, sexual abuse, and other crimes.”
Finally, they said that they might publish the perpetrators’ identities in the coming days.
