To further strengthen the “Community of Peace and Well-being” security strategy in Mineral de la Reforma, various initiatives are being implemented to ensure a healthy coexistence among the population.

Therefore, the mayor of Mineral de la Reforma, Eduardo Medécigo Rubio, launched the “Safe Bus Stop” program, which aims to benefit not only the general public but also preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students.

Accompanied by the president of the Board of Trustees of the Municipal DIF System, Samantha Esparza Hernández, and the head of the local Women’s Institute, María Guadalupe León Guerra, the mayor inaugurated the program at the intersection of Santa Isabel and Santa Cecilia streets in the La Providencia Siglo XXI neighborhood.

In her remarks, Guadalupe León explained that this program seeks to create safe public spaces through coordinated actions with the different departments of the municipal government.

The principal of the “José Vasconcelos” elementary school, Betzabé Beltrán Martínez, and of Technical Secondary School No. 62, Mayte Meza Naval, thanked the authorities for implementing this type of program; at the same time, they agreed that painting pedestrian crosswalks allows the community to be involved and public spaces to be recovered.
