Armenta accuses former governments of looting Puebla; he calls them the “Cartel of Dispossession”

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier (Morena) denounced the plundering of public funds through businesses that previous state administrations (PRI and PAN) allowed to operate, enabling groups to carry out activities that generated kickbacks.

For this reason, he labeled all these “criminals disguised as businessmen” the “Cartel of Plunder.”

This is why his government manages public resources honestly: “Not like the criminals disguised as mayors or governors, with their networks, their mafias, that they left us with many years ago,” he asserted.

He said his administration is working to dismantle the corrupt regime left by neoliberal governments, which compromised state finances.

Furthermore, Armenta Mier affirmed that the most damaging criminal activity for public life is perpetrated by the businessmen and government officials who looted the public treasury.

“The most dangerous criminal groups are those disguised as politicians, who later become businessmen. They are the ones who wield power, because they are criminals who deceive the population, become mayors, and from there plunder the people; or they become governors and from there plunder the people,” he stated.

He elaborated: “Instead of supporting the local economy, the nursery owners, the coffee producers, the shoe manufacturers, the sorghum farmers, they dedicate themselves to making purchases that net them kickbacks and loot Puebla.”

Governor Armenta Mier asserted that “Puebla was the state that protected fuel theft. An entire government, its officials, dedicated to stealing hydrocarbons. Today we are the government that recovers hydrocarbons.”
