The airports of Cancún and Mérida appear in the top 10 terminals with the highest passenger traffic from January to October of this year, announced the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez, at the People’s Conference on Thursday, December 11.
“157.2 million domestic and international passengers passed through our airports, reflecting a 2.5 percent increase,” the official stated, while presenting the top 10 airports in the country.
According to the data shared, Mexico City International Airport ranks first, with 36.9 million passengers. It is followed by Cancún International Airport, with 24.4 million.
Next are the airports of Guadalajara (15.3 million passengers), Monterrey (13 million), Tijuana (10.6 million), San José del Cabo (6.2 million), Felipe Ángeles International Airport (5.8 million), and Puerto Vallarta (5.6 million).
In ninth place is Mérida International Airport, in the capital of Yucatán, which transported 3.2 million passengers from January to October 2025. The list concludes with León Airport in Guanajuato, with 2.7 million passengers.
“We continue to grow with this flow,” commented the Secretary, who reported that compared to the same period in 2024, the number of passengers on international flights grew by 1.4 percent, increasing from 47.34 million to 47.98 million, and on domestic flights the increase was 3.2 percent, rising from 50.81 million to 52.43 million.
