The Durango Municipal Civil Protection Directorate (DMPC) hosted newly recruited personnel from its counterpart in Santiago Papasquiaro to provide them with training in key emergency response and rescue techniques.
The head of the agency in Durango, Gustavo Paredes Moreno, announced this and added that the goal is to solidify Durango’s position as a leader in professionalization and preparedness in emergency response.
The Durango firefighters welcomed personnel from Santiago Papasquiaro in response to a request for support in training their newly recruited staff. The course included instruction in hose deployment, operation of hydraulic systems, rescue and self-rescue techniques—essential knowledge for improving response in various emergency scenarios.
In an interview, Paredes Moreno stated that the training was provided by personnel with high-level professional certifications, including a specialization for command personnel obtained in Mexico City, as well as operational and technical courses in diverse areas, which positions the agency among the best-prepared in the country.
The municipal director of Civil Protection emphasized that this collaborative effort reflects the solidarity that distinguishes the work of firefighters.
“Brotherhood compels us to support each other across agencies. Sharing knowledge saves lives and enhances response capabilities throughout the state. Durango has made significant progress in professionalization, and it is an honor to be able to share this experience with our colleagues,” said Gustavo Paredes.
Finally, Paredes Moreno noted that these types of actions strengthen ties with other groups in the state and contribute to raising preparedness standards for the benefit of Durango families.
